Thank you for visiting the Utah Birth Support website.

I'm Jennifer Sorensen Whitaker, CD (DONA), BFW mentor, and owner of Utah Birth Support. I would feel honored to have the opportunity to assist you as your doula or BIRTHING FROM WITHIN mentor.  I understand that everyone comes to give birth in a unique way. I have certified as a doula and enjoy working as a childbirth educator. I am also a trained Hypno-Doula. I have varied my training because I find it important to have the tools necessary in order to meet people where they are in their birth philosophy journey. My first goal is to provide respect and loving support of your birth wishes. I would love to hear about your birthing ideas.  I look forward to the opportunity to support you during your birth, have you join us in our BIRTHING FROM WITHIN CLASSES, or simply to enjoy a conversation with you.  Please feel free to contact me so that we may find if my services would be of a benefit to you.

I hope you will find your visit to this website informative. Utah Birth Support is a unique company dedicated in providing professional, individualized childbirth education and doula services.  Please make yourself comfortable with the links located to the left of this page. There you will find more information about the Utah Birth Support philosophy, the services we offer and more.

Doulas Proven to Improve Birth Outcomes

If you or someone you love is about to give birth you have most likely considered a variety of labor and birth options.  If there was a drug or other option that had no negative side-effects and had been proven in ten randomized trials to reduce the cesarean rate, the length of labor, oxytocin use, pain medication use, the need for forceps, and reduced requests for epidurals, would you be interested?1  Doulas do just that!  When considering your many birth options, don’t overlook one of the most advantageous options available today…the care of a doula.

For more information on these findings you may like to visit the DONA International's website.
