My name is Jennifer Sorensen Whitaker.  My greatest professional passion stated simply: I find great joy in assisting mothers and fathers on their journey to new parenthood.  It is through my work both as a birth doula and childbirth educator that I am able to express this passion. 

I have had the opportunity to work as a birth doula since 2006.  As a board member of the Utah Doula Association, I work and learn alongside some of the best doulas in Utah.  Each birth that I attend teaches me and stretches me in new and beautiful ways.  I am awed and honored by the families who invite me to attend them in birth.

I also find joy in mentoring Birthing From Within childbirth preparation classes.  Class time is meaningful and a lot of fun to be a part of.

I can't get my hands on enough to read and I enjoy writing as well.  As of late, I have had the pleasure of seeing myself published within a few small publications.
 
I have lived in many places across the United States, including the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, central Nebraska, and Las Vegas, Nevada just to name a few. However, I spent the majority of my childhood growing up under the sunshine of Arizona and am now happy to call Salt Lake City, Utah my home.  There I live with my four great kids, husband, dog and six chickens.
